With all this bickering, compliments and complaints it becoming really difficult which ISP is the one for me for ADSL services. So, I've decived to cancel my fixed sub service with my current ISP and roll like tumbleweed between ISPs using prepaid options. This should give me an indication where I may be able to get value for buck.

Who knows, I might be able to give some reviews on what I have experienced.

Comments?

When "I" (yip me, and only me), feel that I am getting no benefit from them at all, then I'll call it quits. And I'll say my goodbyes and leave, not get on a soapbox and scream and shout profanities this early in the morning.

And I am sorry, this is not the only "seacom" ISP that I've tried, and they are all struggling (the uncapped ones)

Do yourself a favour.....ask in here, how many users with a 4mb line, bought the R3000 package? Those that limit there download speeds to the package they purchased, excluded of course. There is a guy on this thread that still feels he is entitled to 1024 even though he only paid R300. So seriously, they are trying their best

I have a 4mb line, and Im on the spicy package. My downloads are roughly 10kbs if not lower, not exactly what they advertised is it? :P I'd be happy if I was getting 40 - 50kbs. Am I getting it? No. Am I even getting their minimum advertised speed of 256k? No. Am I willing to pay for this? No.

I rest my case.

i am a hardware nut i just would like to see the specs of the hardware they are using

EXACTLY! Why did you take an account that is actually meant for a 384 line?

Because I too would like to experience uncapped at an affordable price. Im not a rich snob who can afford to throw away R3000 every month. But, I would like to experience this uncapped at the advertised speeds, and not anything less.

Just a thought, cant those who want to complain about Digichilli as a company start a thread?

This is for people to get network updates, and to share network issue they exprencing.

The people that are happy with Digichilli and who want to get updates dont want to read through tons of non topic related posts...

Of which the last update was on 22 December if you care to have a look at the front page...

When I registered on the website I paid with my credit card. Will the payment go through automatically next month or do I need to enter my details every month?

Thanks, hopefully my account will be like this, when I get home today, as well.

Nevermind my previous comment then, this sounds like what I've had the past week - no change then. :(

I've been reading this thread for a while now. I've been skimming the later posts and it is absolutely amazing how the some people are bitching about the complaints, especially on mybb of all places.

I have relatives in the states. A good couple of years back in NY, the price of bread rose by 2 US cents. People went ape and boycotted the bread companies. Guess what, they lowered the price of bread again. The same thing happened to milk I'm told. Huge amounts of milk went bad and it wasn't a happy time for the milk companies. These are not isolated incidents as Americans usually just hop over to the competition either when their pocket feels threatened or the other guy is offering a better product or service. You can even take products back to a store if you dislike it. There are massive Christmas sales every year because of this. Brand new products up for grabs. All this promotes competition, decreases price, increases customer service and variety.

Unfortunately we live in SA. Here, we go to Chaos Computers and get refused a product replacement (not refund) because they had been trying to figure out what was wrong with it for two weeks, thus pushing it passed the "straight swap out" period.

SA is promoting a conditioned mentality where the customer is not always right and has no right to bitch and complain. I worked in for a company that offered web design services and let me tell you, when a customer had a relevant complaint, we jumped and made stuff happen. It is the customers' right. As a business owner, I would say that they can jump in a lake and go somewhere else. As a customer, I can say whatever the hell I like if it is related to a service that I am not getting. There is a point where no amount of apologies and updates will cut it. Also, offering refunds is great and I commend them for this. But it seems that everyone is now screaming, "well, if you don't like it quite, just get a refund." I agree, but I think that as "civilians" and as paying, potentially paying and previous customers you still have that right to shout bloody murder. I +1 the person who said that if this had been telkom everyone would be in a froth.

That all said, I am not yet a Chilli customer. I was really hoping this service was going to work out. As soon as everything goes well, I may be jumping on board, but for the moment SAOL uncapped is looking a whole lot "hotter"

Just disappointed is all.

How about we give DigiChilli a chance to sort themselves out. Nobody was complaining about the terrible service on the WA trial accounts for the first little while?
