threats like that are bad on your part you like a vulture picking away at a new isp step back and take a look at what you said who will it hurt more

up 2 now, i was very happy with DC, still am, just need to understand, what is allowed on downloading and what not.

Looks like uncapped is not as uncapped as we thought if normal downloaders are being targeted as abusers...
 
Proff, I'm in exactly the same boat as you. I am only using flashget to download and http browsing mostly and I still cannot connect.

What's the hassle now?

What pisses me off is that they knew exactly what they were doing and only when ppl started hitting that call centre with queries this morning, they thought of bumping together a email to a group of suspended users.

As I said at 01:00 this morning, I figured this one out, it disgusts me that DC actually insults ones intelligence like this. Passwords was deliberately changed so that some people could not access the network. And to think, they played along with it for as long as they could.

Hi Guys

If you're receiving this email, Sysadmin calls you educators. I call you innovators. We'd like to still call you users.

This is a group email to all users who have currently been banned by our sysadmin.

The sysadmin has reported repeated violations in terms of our AUP from these accounts. These take the form of attempts to bypass any and all throttling and shaping as well as accounting.
Further to that, certain individuals have maliciously tried to flood the network as well as using other methods of access that have an effect of compromising the network.

Please check the AUP which is on our site and attached. Please check 3. and 9.6, 9.7.

I am waiting for our legal department to come back iro further actions.

If you feel that you have been incorrectly suspended, please respond to myself and our legal department at legal (at) digichilli (dot) com and we will review your response. If you do not respond within 5 days your account will remain suspended.

You either know what you are doing and have now been smacked. Or you're 1 in a thousand and we want to know what you're doing that everyone else isn't.

think they doing it to sort out the users (legal) from the abusers (illegal) users. Just contact Dave, and hear whats happening.

If they built a proper network they wouldn't have to blame their own customers.

Now that I know, I can take an ISP that is open and transparent, but one who cheats and lie to people rubs me up the wrong way. And, for all the others, I phoned them this morning, this after sending Dave 4 emails and 5 PM's...so I tried...when did bursting to line speed become the users problem?

The problem is simple...it lies between the keyboard and the chair :)

Some of us need internet and can not fork out money in the hope that it might work one day while paying for another account to get stuff done... There will be other options available by the time DC get their stuff working.
 
I have just pressed the "cool-me-down" button, and I very much
doubt if I'll ever press the "heat-me-up" one .... here's why :

My entire stats for the 13 hours from 18:00 last night
to 07:00 this morning are -

Download 298 MB Upload 504 MB

Now I had exactly 6 torrents running - and I've been trying
to get them for 10 days now - yes TEN days. As you can imagine,
I'm starting to run out of seeders and leachers. But there are
still a few and I've managed in the past with less. So, given
the above total upload and download stats, here's what actually
transpired on the six torrent files - the headings are Original size,
Position 1 (18:00 last night), Position 2 (07:00 this morning),
Actual growth.

All figures are in MegaBytes.

12 MegaBytes - in 13 hours. The rest of the 298 MB must have just
been wasted packets.

I was starting to feel sorry for myself, but then I cheered up when
I realised I only lost R240 - think about the investors who've lost
R20 to R40 million. Ouch !

I really do wish DC the best, but right now, with the South African
cricket team teetering at 76 for 6, I'd give them a better chance of winning
their match than DC getting this right. Fact is that they've just gone
backwards over the last 2 weeks - both DC and the Proteas.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! Lmao.

Oh, thanks Dave. Good to see you are alive...thought I'd at least get a response after my 4 emails and 5 PM's...just admit it man, your network engineers don't know what they are doing...you now want to park this at the user, when your technical team cannot getting shaping right.

hmmm, at this stage you'll do anything to get your network stabilised, even at the cost of some of your users...NICE

My speeds have not dropped below 30KB/s for the last 15 minutes. Im on a 384 line with a spicy package <- That does not sound too good.

*EDIT* Now its hovering between 38KB/s and 42KB/s

and now wipe the froth off from around your mouth looks like a 2 year old having a foot stomping fists thumping tantrum.......

DC has been as open and transparent as can be.......

I have not been lied to by them in anyway at all....so where you get that ''lied to'' stuff I don't know....

I have had nothing but brilliant service from them without a doubt what so ever.....

Yes there are times that I got frustrated as many people did but to get all spit full and nasty now that is just silly......

Anyway I am sure that when you get a good hard lesson from the world you will learn to be more tolerant.....


there are much better ways of handling your desperation and one that is filled with logic is to let them know that you have no further use of their services and why and then move on
 
It's pretty clear that digichilli's network cannot handle the number of users that have signed up - I'm pretty sure there's more than 50 users now ;)

So what they might be doing is banning a bunch of accounts, keeping quiet about accounts that can't authenticate and hoping that the number of people hitting "cooldown" plus the banned accounts will decrease the network load enough so that it seems like everything is sorted for the users that remain.
