I cancelled my Telkom and ZAConnect ADSL accounts to join DC from Jan 2010.

4 Jan 2010: I signed up for a Digichilli account.

Received 2 passwords ??? Very strange???

Neither worked. Went back to Afrihost Prepaid.

Sent a PM and an email to Dave and Chantelle requesting a refund and cancellation of my account.

5 Jan 2010: Had not heard anything from DigiChilli.
Tried to connect to DC and the one password worked.

Connected to test the system.
Browsing was so slow that pages kept timing out.
1 file download: Maximum speed reached 10KB/s for a few seconds.

Went back to Afrihost Prepaid.

Sent both David and Chantel PM`s and emails again for a refund and cancellation.

I have now signed up for a SAOL.com R499pm account.

Still haven`t heard anything from Dave or Chantel.

Dave, I wouldn`t be such a pain in the butt if this was for gaming etc. but I do make a living from the internet and I need reliable 24/7 connection to give support to my clients.

I sent 2 personal messages to you as I don`t like the idea of discussing this in open forum but with no contact from DigiChilli I hope that this will get your attention.

Please cancel my account and refund the money.

Hi GPM

Perhaps try calling their support number and stay on the line until your request has been actioned?

I suspect more and more like this.

Pity, I had high hopes for DC, but I guess this is SA...

I e-mailed them at the only contact e-mail address I could find on their site ([email protected]) yesterday (2010-01-06) at 11:00 requesting a refund. I haven't heard a peep from them.

I suspect it's R300 wasted (yeah, I paid R300 instead of the R250 or whatever the special was by accident on top of that) so... Yay for good business practices and great service, DigiChilli.

sorry to hear u guys got burned by these guys :( , i wouldve been nice if it worked 100%
XD

I think there'll be a lot more of these threads being created soon. As much as I and the current users would like Digichilli to succeed and have a stable connection, being patient only works for a while. Hopefully there is a not too distant solution to their problems!!

No long-term problems on DC here quality wise but if we're talking response time Dave's is insanely good. I've gotten replies less than a minute after emailing him on more than one occasion.

Probably giving the guy more grief by posting it publicly (Though he already has somewhere in one of the threads) but try emailing Dave[ATSIGNHERE]digichilli.com instead.

Well at least i can say, DigiChilli do at least manage to refund. I signed up middle December, and got my refund begin of Jan.

Of course what counted in my favor is , i never received a login to even use the service. I figured if things start off like that when there's already numerous complaints about the actual service , lets just stop right there. (i'm always optimistically naive to believe things might improve when i start using it, but if i can't even -start- then i get negative very very fast).

I received my login, it was so bad I only used my account for a few days. I was really impressed with DC though as I was refunded soon after my request was sent.

I had to have a stable connection for work so I couldn't give them time to improve, I will give them another try though.

I've e-mailed him and have my fingers crossed.

Thank you!

Please don`t misunderstand the reason for this thread.

I am not trashing anyone. I wish Dave and DC only the best. It`s in everyone`s interest that they succeed.

I just cannot afford to have an unreliable connection.

and.... I will be happy to return to DC once they are stable for at least a month.

I have used Telkom for years and have had very, very few problems (not taking their billing dept. into consideration).

I simply wanted DC to acknowledge my emails and start the refund process.

Naaah wasn't assuming you were trashing them, I just wanted to make it known things aren't universally negative in my post and perhaps more importantly to provide you with Dave's email in case you needed it. (As it really is so much more useful than the support one or pming him)

I have also sent an email to supportATdigichilli.com requesting a refund.

I have been unable to log in at all for the past 3 days and the connection was pretty much useless for the days before that. January is worse than December.

I have "cooled down" - I guess I need to move to another ISP.

Received an e-mail from DigiChilli today as well saying I'll be informed when the refund has been processed.

Thanks, DigiChilli, will try you guys again when everything gets sorted :)
