We are installing a diginet line (256kbps), point to point at our offices mainly for VOIP. With it, we get 5 public Ip adresses. Can those Ip's be used for hosting a exchange server? Even more important, can it be used for browsing if its point to point? If these arestupid question, well....:o :o :o

no you still need the ISP portion. With regard to the exchange you should be able to host an exchange server but it will only accessible from the internal network and the network across the line.

So let me see if i have this. I have 5 Ip's that not public, hence, i might as well leave it, cuz i need an ip thats public for my mx records. Why then give me 5 ip's i can assign anyways with dhcp? As you can see, im a noob when it comes to diginet....

The point to point will only allow a connection between those two points! So you will not be able to browse the web, or host exchange. You need a public facing line to go with your IP address.

Yes, if you want Internet, then your A side is your office and the B side is your ISP.

I see, but i still dont get the 5 ip adresses that go with it. Maybe im just stupid....thanx ppl, i appreciate the help
