Hey guys
We recently acquired a 30 channel trunk from Neotel, after being told initially that porting the six numbers from our old analogue Telkom lines would not be a problem. After signing the contract we were informed that Neotel will only port 30 channel trunks or greater.
What I'd like to know is the following:
1) What's the difference between porting 6 analogue phone numbers and 30 digital trunk numbers (surely they're all just entries on some database?)
2) Isn't this discriminating against smaller companies seeing as they are forced to either stay with Telkom or get new numbers from Neotel (Not an option for most established companies)
3) Is there legal grounds for forcing operators to port any and all numbers requested?
