Digital-only banks are coming

A new study finds that as many as a quarter of people in the UK would consider using a digital only bank.

My main bank is actually digital, no ATM, no branch but the account is totally free, they only require a minimum of assets to be deposited.

In the end, I spend less time managing issues with them than with real banks where you never know for which issue you have to go to the branch or phone.

Not a new concept in SA. I've been using a digital bank for at least 15 years. They do admittedly give one a credit card, so it's not "all digital".

The only thing I need cash for is the vending machine and Sandwich man at work. And those are very important - nothing worse than staring at the chocolate through the glass and knowing you can't buy it
