seeing that the Person's thread is closed and ends with the post from the DP guy, I need to say the following:
I respect Digital Planet as they are one of the cheaper places to buy stuff from here in SA, and they have the most comprehensive choice of products, given the inferior state of online retailing in the country.
BUT:
Digital Planet has absolutely useless web site, most of the time it isn't working properly! I have emailed them about problems with their search, whcih returns completely irrelevant results all the time, and they didn't respond any close to my expectations to my complaint! They just emailed me a direct link to the page for the product I gave as an example i my complaint!
So if Person did email them about the problem, they would have more than likely just have ignored him as they ignored (or rather responded inappropriately to) my complaint about their search!
So obviously to take their attention, one needs to do a bit more than just email them with the problem!
Bottom line, to Digital Planet, please hire some decent programmers and redo completely your web site from both design and reliability/functionality point of view! You have been in business for quite a few years now, I am sure you have made some money to do that, so your customers experience becomes pleasant one rather than annoyance and frustration!
And before you even think about attacking me for what I said above, think about the following: the DP guy response is "First and foremost, Digital Planet would like to thank members of the MyADSL forums who backed Digital Planet in what was an input error in our discount voucher generation system.". From that it seems to me that they are grateful that people backed them up, and they don't seem to have intention fixing their useless site any time soon!
It is a matter of time for somebody to build far better web site to sell similar stuff like DP at similar prices. Then DP will go under just because they have failed to recognize the obvious! Bad management I would say!
