Digital TV promise

I think empty promises are inherent to the politics of any country and the whole digital move was getting pushed by FIFA and was never gonna happen on time if ever.
 
DTT is really of little benefit to this country anyway, so who cares. All it means is the consumer & taxpayer are gonna have to cough up even more - to free up bandwith for what ? How exciting...!
 
There are a number of inaccuracies in this report: there's supposed to be a HD satellite channel, why does it matter that Sentech has not provisoned one for DTT? The dual illumination process has already started, it was supposed to end and not begin in 2011. Finally SA access to digital television and the ability to broadcast in digital have nothing to do with each other, so the response that the event will be broadcasted in digital has little to do with the problem stated in the paragraph. Also there's no mention of the delay in STB manufacturing which is the only reason we all can't access digital right now.
 
Imagine if the delivery of his BMWs was dependent on the delivery of HD DTT - I am sure we would have gotten it by now in that case.
