Hi

I purchased a Digital USB DVB-T HDTV TV Tuner recently but am unable to pick up any channels, be that analogue or digital.
Does anyone have experience in this? Should i be doing anything specific?
I reside in Cape Town area.

Thanks

Hi Shafiekd

I have two digital USB TV tuners, The one is just a plain USB stick and the other is a USB DVB-T tuner with analogue and radio receiver.

Funny thing is I could not get to pick up any channels either using windows XP (older Pc) as it stated that the channels are encrypted.
I did however get them to work on windows 7. I don’t like their propriety software so I let windows 7 automatically install the drives from Microsoft Update, and then configure Windows Media Centre for it.

Funny thing is I seem to pick up some DSTV channels like....
1) Mnet
2) Mnet Sport
3) Etv
4) E Africa
5) Forgot
6) Mnet Family
7) Viva (or something like that)
8) Mnet Action
9) Something else
10) Some Kiddies program

I live in Devils Peak Cape Town

well this confirms my experience with Sony LCD's out on the market atm. They got a DVB-T tuner in and they picking up the same channels as listed above...

So no idea why your USB thingy isnt picking it up? Only problem you gonna have when they go live is they gonna encrypt the signals :erm:

then you got an expensive nose picker! :p

:D
