Hey~

You know this game compare to NFS it is really differnet.. Can I ask all those that have "steering wheels" sets... Well you press the pedal slowly, do you actually go slowly? Or does it just go?

And is this game better to play with the steering set?

Hi there

I have a steering wheel. and to be honest when you start playing with steering wheels you can never go back to the keyboard.
Depends the game but most of the time when you push the pedal slowly the car slowly accelerates...the joy!
The best steering wheel game i played so far is NEED FOR SPEED PRO STREET.

I haven't tried Dirt 2 as yet but have Dirt 1. The steering setup in Dirt 1 was appaulling and not fun at all to use, ended up using keys.
Hopefully they have fixed this problem in Dirt 2.
The steering wheel in NFS shift is brilliant, sterring and pedal response is on the spot with regards to the differnt cars you drive.
To much gas to quickly and you end up with a bucking bronco, got to treat it like the real cars.
found in the upper class cars you need the steering wheel as the keyboard response is not quick enough.
I use the Logitech Momo steering wheel.

KAI i just played the demo and the gameplay and graphics are awesome foursome!

and using the keys aren't that hard... after repeatedly playing it I finally came first in the Moroccan race using the Eclipse

Just don't ride like you do on any NFS before Shift and if you've been practising your real-life driving you'd know you have to slow down A LOT to take a corner!

Reed, you know... playing the demo is differnet to having the game.. I think you should go BUY the game first.. mm.. I think dirt 2 driving is like real life.. but not too like it.. if you know what i mean.. oh well.. doesn't matter.. not like you will get the game anyway..

Well you know taking the corners at low speed is boring.. that why you need to DRIFT... But some people just CAN'T seem to get the tech to do it.. (cough cough) oh well... that's why i asked about the steering...

But this game is really fun..

Tak maybe you should go buy the game too [cough cough]

and you and I both know you had to study to get that drift "technique" of yours... plus the corners on dirt are tight like Street X mode on Need for Speed Underground 2

and you have to slow down... dyu not remember that first race in Tokyo Drift where the 350Z basically stopped before drifting around the corner and the American dude rammed the Silvia into the wall!

Great game. It's all about the drifting. Not that difficult too, just brake for a split second, then jam then steering wheel left or right, accelerate and watch the car slide around a bend at high speed. Am at about 50% completion.

The race in Chine where you go around all those curves up the mountain. :D

And the 360 turn you need to make in morroco. How often do you guys use the clutch?

Careful what type of steering wheel you buy, the cheaper ones don't emulate acceleration/braking very well, they mimic pushing forward and backwards on a joystick, you can see that when you are in the Joystick configuration section of Control Panel.

I have a buddy with a steering wheel so I can ask him and let you know.

I was planning to get a steering wheel, but I don't want to just get any.. but it's rather expensive to get one that is good..

Well please do let me know..

Clutch.. mm.. well I basically lower it before I turn whether the rev is low or high.. it's just makes it better to turn.. [you are talking about the turns right?]

But I haven't played in a while.. so kind of forgot...

Reed, playing auto.. that's not "cool" man.. you need to try out the clutch, it's hard at first, but it gets easier ^ ^ Oh, since you have the demo, I'll lend you the original so you can play :) no need to thank me.. that's what friends are for

Hi

If you looking for a good steering wheel...I brought a LOGITECH last year.
Steering wheel, pedals (brake and accelerator) its got force feedback as well.
If i remember right i got it for -+R500. Don't know if its to much..but i reckon
it a good price. Check it out "Logitech Formula Force EX"..

playing dragon age now tak... then i plan to play mass effect 2 :D

Oh really? so that means if you get the steeringwheel, it's much easier to play?

What about having a controller? Is that going to be the same? Because my controller just broke.. so I can't really play with it.. (sadly.. )
