Disable SAIX proxy/cache.

Hi all,
I am sure this has been answered before, but how do I disable the SAIX proxy/cache.

I have been battling to upload a background MP3 on our wedding website. Every time I uploaded the song, IE would play the old song. At first I thought there was just a problem with the upload, but today I uploaded the song from work (VC 3G), and it worked first time.

So now I need to disable the cache in IE on my wife's laptop, so that she believes me that the correct song has been uploaded :D
It would not bother me if there was no BG music, since AFAIK only IE supports it anyways.

clear the cache in IE, then if you refresh the website the SAIX proxy should get the latest copy of it I think.
 
get the url for the actual mp3 and load it in a new window with a '?' at the end.
 
Stupid question I'm sure.. but have your tried hitting CTRL + F5 when doing a refresh in IE.

Simply hitting refresh on your browser will not do a full reload

I stand to be corrected, but AFAIK it is. I tried it in both newest versions of Opera and FF, and it seems to be true.
 
Well to clear IE's Cache, it should be as easy as:

Click Tools ->Internet Options
Click Delete Files...
Click Clear History
Click Ok

(But I know that doesn't always seem to work)

One thing that might work as well.. Change the name of the file you uploaded if you have not done so already as well. Then hit CTRL+F5 when the page loads

Thanks for all the help, but my wife is just gonna have to believe me that the correct file was uploaded, because it works correctly for me here on VC 3G, just not at home on ADSL (Saix)

There's always treachery - why not start up your personal web server and show her the site that way ;)
 
Now that just sounds like too much effort just to prove a point :D
Besides, I can just show her when I get home.

You could try using an overseas proxy server that runs on a port that's not 80 or 8080. This way the SAIX proxy server won't get between you and the file.
 
Well this is one problem, mine however is a bit worse and only way I can explain it is the SAIX transparent proxy.

When I go to forums.wow-europe.com and try to login it seems as if I login, but then all of a sudden the website forget it again. Strangest problem ever.

So then I login to a linux box that runs internationally on an isp that doesn't have a transparent proxy and tunnel my firefox connection through that. Then all of a sudden it works perfectly without any problem, albeit a lot slower since that box is heavily used.

So I also have my problem and not really a worthwhile method to fix it =/

I've had the same problem with that before. I'm guessing the forums are PHP driven right. It happens on my forums I run, and on friends forums, all the same thing. I got around it by putting the SAIX proxy settings into IE manually and suddenly.. I can log in every time. SO yeah its a Proxy error, but the PHP forums aint to helpful as to what the problem is and nobody seems to want to fix it
 
Same thing is true if you try and use rapidshare or something.

Our transparent proxies aren't all that transparent.
