Anyone know how and where to apply for a disabled parking permit in Bryanston/ Fourways area? The website of the agency (GPAPD.org) that manages these permits appears not to be working.
The municipality issues the disabled disc, you apply at the traffic department.
Is it true that the disability disc is only valid for disability bays that are in that particular municipality?
In other words you are allowed to park in disabled bays in Cape Town if the disc was issued in Cape Town but you are not regarded as disabled if you come to Stellenbosch because you are not allowed to park in the disabled bays here.
Certain local authorities require the doctor to complete a section of the form, so the form needs to be collected beforehand. Please contact your local traffic department to confirm whether you require a doctor's letter or a form.
Problem solved. Call GPAPD at 011 838-3012 and they will direct you to the right person. You fill in a form, get a medical practitioner to certify your disability, and go and present the application in person at the Municipal Office at 22 Loveday Street.Anyone know how and where to apply for a disabled parking permit in Bryanston/ Fourways area? Correct, the permits only have local validity (within the issuing authority's jurisdiction). Apparently, there is an initiative to institute a national permit but nothing achieved so far.Is it true that the disability disc is only valid for disability bays that are in that particular municipality?
I've never heard of such a thing.
And even if true in black and white doubt anyone goes that far to apply it...I mean people don't even give a toss when able bodied people use those bays.
Yeah I saw that.I have received confirmation that it is true!
