Disabled parking

ive seen parking for moms with babies now too
i think it was at cavendish square...

@OP that doesnt look like a disabled parking
iirc regulations state that a disabled parking needs to be 3,5m x 5m. A normal one is 2,5m x 5m.
so if its isnt that size, theres no way it can be a disabled parking

Thanks for the the regulations, do you know of a link that states these regulations?

will check for link, or maybe scan it for u later
its from the SABS 0400 (which is changed to SANS something)

Personally I don't see the point of disabled parking. I wouldnt have a problem if they where always full, but theyre always empty. What percentage of the population are disabled? and what percentage of those actually have cars?

Oh my soul. People like you should be disabled one day so you can see for yourself!!!!!!

Why are disabled parking bays needed, why are disabled toilets needed? Because people in wheelchairs (such as my wife) need the extra space that a wheelchair requires, maybe next time a person with a wheelchair should park next to you and leave your car with a new paintjob from struggling to get out of the car.

People like you should suffer for your ignorance as this is what my wife and I have to deal with everyday

Oh and that parking is terribly marked even if it was intended for disabled people you really should fight that fine!

Take a chill pill and get off your horse I never said that disabled people should struggle. Relax, read it from beginning to end, think about it objectively and stop blaming the world for your wife's disability.

We have actually had to steer away from certain shopping malls because some people "dont see the point" of disabled parking and just use it when they are not supposed to, but yeah ive had this fight with every driver i confronted, why should i waste my energy here (shakes head)

I realise there is a need for this, I'm questioning the practicality of it. At Eastgate there are 3 or 4 bays reserved for the disabled at every entrance. They only ever get used by douches in German cars. I almost got battered by a steroid junkie in a z3 once there when I loudly commented "oh must be MENTALLY disabled".

It grates me when I see someone's ML350 parked in the disabled bays in a place like Menlyn shopping center. Besides the selfish A@#$-hole thinking they're entitled for some reason, the place's management has the staff and the means to take action if the vehicle is clearly not being used by a physically-challenged person.

Yeah well i guess some of them are mentally challenged so they see the need to use these bays when they not supposed to. I once demanded a wheel to be clamped and was told by Sandton city management that they cant. I offered to deflate the tires and was threatened by the security guard that I would be arrested, i just laughed and thought better of it and to not use my pepper spray on him. I logged a complaint in writing and nothing came of it. But yeah i was steaming and will try and be more calm next time

My blood boiled the other day. Saw an elderly lady in a wheelchair quite a few parking spaces from the door, because all the disabled bays were taken by able-bodied drivers.

On a similar note, why would someone in a wheelchair get more preference than a mom with a baby and a pram? I see plenty of moms struggling in the parking lot trying to get babies out of cars in narrow parking spots, and I have never even seen a legitimate disabled person parked in one of those spaces?

...cause they should know better than to overpopulate the world! :D

I once saw a disabled person park in an abled parking. I beat the crap outta him! What's fair is fair!

/joke :)
