I recently got a dongle to use for gaming
my adsl line i can see is network 3 on my pc and the dongle shows up as network 7

now is there a way i can disable say network 3 temporally on my windows 10 pc so that it just uses the dongle for that time being?
I've just been plugging out the cable whenever i game but i feel like there is an easier way

I don’t think there is any standard simple built in way, but it should be doable with the task scheduler.

How the hell can the dongle be better for gaming though? The latency should be higher.

Telkom...the problem is the disconnects at random and with family the ping spikes a lot
surprisingly 3G gives me the same latency on overwatch and CSGO as my 10mb adsl line

i have asked Afrihost they say its Telkoms problem
Telkom just says the line is old deal with it

so I'm stuck on a old copper cable that disconnects at random and can't handle more than two people at a time with the dongle its just me and its never disconnected itself

right click on what exactly?

Edit: oh i see under change adapter options

Under the network connections screen where you see all the adaptors you can right click on any of them and say Disable.

Don’t need to go into adapter options.

Also best to set your dongle as a metered connection.

If you feel like macroing something take a look at netsetman
Take the lan gateway out with setting1 and add it back with setting2

I used bell Siemens speed stream modem for a while and it was working good. It was a Point to Point PPP DSL Internet connection. I used the modem set up guide https://www.corenetworkz.com/2019/02/setup-siemens-speedstream-modem-with.html

Cox also provides high speed connection using cable technology. https://www.corenetworkz.com/2017/12/setup-cox-internet-troubleshoot-wifi.html
Using Dongle for Online gaming is not recommended. Even if we ignore the latency, the data charge is higher than DSL/Cable.

Can't you ask Telkom to replace the old copper cable with Optical Fiber?

I assume you connect to your dongle via WiFi? Just set your network priority (google how) to have ur dongle connection as highest priority. And enable/disable your WiFi as needed.
