Disappearing Data

I Normally buy 1GB data for my phone which last me for about a month since I have WiFi at home and work. My phone and all my apps are totally up to date - I do all updates on WiFi.

Yesterday morning I went shopping with my family with around 500MB of data and R47 airtime on my phone. When I got home and tried to get into my complex (we have cell to boom), the friendly Vodacom lady asked me to please recharge my account. When I checked, I had 0 airtime and 0 data! The phone was in my pocket all this time, and I made 2 or 3 phone calls of less than a minute.

When I check the data usage on my phone it shows that I have used 376MB from 8 September to date (20 September). There is a disclaimer that the "Service provider data accounting may differ from your device", but by so much? 500MB data and R50 airtime in a few hours?

I am now too scared to buy data, so I will only be using WIFI until I have an answer to what happened here.

Now you move the sliders so it shows you the usage for 18 to 20 September and then you scroll down and see which app it was and you tell us...

I can only set start date which I set for 18 September. Please see attached screenshots:

I used 82 MB for the three days with Google Play Store topping the list with 26MB. Where did the rest of the data go?

Not sure how to get the screenshots to show...

You click there, browse to file location and upload it, 2 times for the 2 pics

Tried that - no place to browse so I pasted file location in there and got:

in both IE11 and Edge.

Are you sure you have selected the Computer tab instead of the URL tab?

Anyway, are you on prepaid or contract? Maybe your data bundle expired (if on prepaid, after 30 days) and you used up the airtime at Out Of bundle rates...

Apologies to everyone - don't I feel the idiot! My bundle expired. Sad though that doing nothing can deplete R47 of airtime in one morning...

Apologies again.

Apologies again.

At R2 per Mb R47 is nothing on a smartphone.

Thing is I have had this happen to me in August, my data disappeared and Vodacom investigated but couldn't pinpoint the problem. They gave me a 1g comp data but still billed me for out of bundle data (which was unfair).
The problem happened again this Monday (5 October 2015). This time I was quick enough to switch off my data connection before it was completely depleted. Vodacom is investigating and will revert. Very disappointed with this matter and the lack of speed on their end to identify the root cause and fix the issue.

Is it just me or has this topic with Vodacom popped up a lot suddenly this week?

I would be keen to know if others have had the same problem this week.
During the first incident in August of my data disappearance, my brother confirmed some of his colleagues also had their data disappear on that same day as well.
