Disconnect when 3G/GPRS handover occurs

So did the "trokkie" deliver? ;)

I was hoping so, I've been begging and pleading for 16 months now so when I saw the weekend that my phone shows 3g I got really excited but perhaps it was a dream today there's NO sign of any 3g at all, nothing !

Well sometimes it's nice to dream just to wake up to reality !

I remember we spoke about 3G in your area a long time ago and there were not any definite plans. Did you get new info from Vodacom giving you a December 2007 date?

Can you PM me the details on whom you spoke with and what they said? I'll follow up.

I don't really want to go into all the promises and details here. I have send you a PM with everything.

Thanks for trying to help.

Something must be happening here with the 3g. Seems like Xmas will be coming early (hopefully).

At about 15H20 my connection disconnected and my phone then showed 3g - I connected again and started to download a file and the speeds were between 35-50KB/s and then suddenly everything went haywire and my download speeds went up to 200KB/S. The average was between 160 - 200 KB/s for about 15min then the connection dropped again and I was back to my 6KB/s.

I tried to quickly do a speedtest but just after the download test the connection was disconnected. The download showed 1220.

Use the 3GOnly profile setting and see what happens.

Don't know where to do it on my Samsung U700.

Here's some speed test on Vodacom this afternoon.:D:D:D

At 13H30

Download speed : 1265kbps

Upload speed : 297kbps

At 14H00

Download speed : 1765kbps

Upload speed : 299kbps

Either Xmas is here or maybe I must check if anybody is left in my town. ;)

You could try using VMC 9.3 - it might support your phone and would allow you to create a profile that uses 3GOnly.

Thanks ic I'll give it a try. Just hope my good speeds will stay. If it stays I will have to change my username ;) Seems like the "trokkie" finally arrived. Will wait for the next week or so to be sure.

16H35

Download speed : 2335kbps

Upload speed : 306kbps
