Disconnected 02/04

Shaun seems like I am getting large ping time with this speedtest, not sure if it the cause of the problem as well. I phoned the support guys and they say its definitely not normal.





Before disconnect my download speed is 0, but my upload is still up e.g. 4kb, but my frame error rate jumps above 30%, and then I cant browse or do anything and then I get disconnected.

I have disconnected a few times in the last hour :(

I have gotten more disconnects or no data activity for 1-2 min and then disconnects in the last hour.

I have been counting the disconnects during the day, as off 5 minutes ago i have been disconnected 43 times. It's getting rather annoying, o wait sorry, I'm past being annoyed.

This is not so much a problem with browsing but for anything else that carry's a continues socket connection it's a major problem.

Ran the speed test and the connection is perfect, when it's up. Reconnects are almost instantaneous but it does not help if the connection is lost.

Please get this issue resolved.

Experiencing a disconnect every few minutes it seems, sometimes an hour passes with no disconnect and sometimes as frequently as every minute...

This is in the Noordheuwel/Kenmare/Monument area.

exactly the same, i am in roodepoort, line of sight to the moria church tower (afaik) and get dropped from saix servers at least once an hour, for the last few days.

edit - and the interesting thing is that i dont necessarily loose the conection.
 
Disconnection forthcoming

I am about to have a disconnection.

Had one this morning at 10:17. Seems I always get no data activity and everything appears to lag out completely and then follows usually by disconnects or sometimes it will recover, but by that time all my apps have disconnected or been interrupted.

Disconnected 4 times thus far today...

Any chance of this getting fixed within the next, oh I don't know, millennium?
 
I also had a disconnection or two little after 10am.

nothing serious, seems fine again.

I have not been timing the dis-connect today (watching the cricket) but i have had sever disconnects. Will be writing a a little program to just pick up the disconnects and placing them in a log file. Will mail that off to iburst on a daily basis until it gets fixed.

Hopefully that'll help them narrow down the problem. I've just spoken to one of my friends in the area who also has iBurst, he's having the same problem as well.

Just had another disconnect as a matter of fact... :(
 
I think its must be on one of the towers we share on route to iBurst causing this if we from different areas. I just had another one as you did.

It seems to happen hourly or every half an hour.

That's it, I'm off to Vodacom on Monday. Although it means more money going to Telscum, I can't carry on with iBurst. Any lawyers here? What, if any, claim could we have against iBurst? Do we have Class Action type lawsuits in SA?
