Discovery Bank issues with card migration

A Discovery Bank customer recently contacted MyBroadband regarding problems migrating from their Discovery Gold credit card (issued under licence from FNB) to their Discovery Bank credit card.

Customers have previously complained of multiple issues when migrating from FNB to Discovery Bank, with some stating that the lack of online banking made it difficult to conduct their everyday banking.

I am with Discovery bank and would advise anyone who is thinking out moving to Discovery to skip it and go straight to FNB.

Discovery is not up for running a bank, especially not an app driven bank. The skill pool is simply not there so everyday you are paying them to be a test pig (and get treated as such).

Discovery bank has so much problems. I also migrated from Discovery Card. Had the worst experience, only getting the card two months later due to them not actually making my card. Then, the agent asked me to request a secondary card in the app, promising that they won't charge me for that. Till today, I still get charged an Extra R30pm, as a secondary card activation fee. Worst bank that I ever dealt with.

Is there an option of remaining with FNB (transferring your balance)?

My experience was pretty great. I opened my account 4:30pm, picked up my card the next day from the temple at 11:00, balance from the old card was transferred the next day.

With regards to the basic card/bank functionality I've never experienced problems. Swipes have worked, EFT's go through, etc. The rewards program, however, is a totally different story. That side still needs a lot of work.

They got Kak service. I'm still waiting for them to email the brochure and to call me back after 2pm- still waiting

Their rewards are the only reason to join in my opinion. Pitty its not working well

Soooo... How do I get my car finance to go off my credit card? The amount of points I am missing out on!

I've been battling for 2 months now to move from SB to Discovery Bank. Downloaded the app, tried to register, then the app picks up that I have a Discovery profile and decides to use only that. Problem is, that was 15 years ago when I was on Discovery Health and the company I worked for had since closed down. So the email domain does not exist anymore, I had changed my cell no since then, so now I'm stuffed, can't reset anything because the OTP would go to a non-existent cell no. Called them twice, they've noted it and would get back to me soon. Emailed them twice, no response, inboxed them twice, 'we're sorry blah blah blah' and even tweeted them, nothing. Perhaps FNB is an option as advised in this thread.

I was keen to transfer my Discovery VISA (FNB) card to the new Discovery Bank VISA credit card. To do that, I had to download Discovery's banking app. Unfortunately my 5-year-old Samsung Galaxy Note phone is not compatible with the Discovery Banking app, and the banking platform is apparently not available via PC or laptop. After several attempts to get a response from Discovery, they said they are entirely a digital banking organisation and cannot help me. Strange; I would have thought that computers are part of the digital age. I do all my banking on computer and not on my phone - much safer that way.
