Discovery Bank

I see the new cashback total is R5000. Has anyone actually gotten 75% on the R4000 (ie total R3k back) max spend for HealthyFood.?

Only once or twice when our spend should definitely result in getting it back every month. No easy way to check unless you keep all your till slips and add them up.

Spoke to them this morning.

Example:
- Family plan (2 people)
- Total Healthyfood Spend: R5,000
- Vitality %: 25%
- Vitality Money %: 50% (so we achieved the credit card spend requirements for a Black Suite on Discovery Bank)
Total = 75%

- 25% @ R4,000 = R1,000 = DM10,000
- 50% @ R2,000 = R1,000 = DM10,000 ( i didnt realise they cap the 50% portion)

So the ACTUAL cashback is max 50%.

Thanks for clarifying. However, I still get less than the 20 000 miles or R2 000.

If you both had seperate Black Suite bank accounts then the VM portion would also be 50% of R4000.

Spending R4000 per month just on items in the Healthy Food catelog is actually a lot. We buy a lot of HF stuff but have never made it to R4000 per month.

I used to be on Platinum which worked for me for HF etc. I switched to black to get the 50% off international flights. The saving alone on the 2 tickets were worth like 2 years of fees. I dont see any other advantages tbh

Do you both have the black suite?

What you describe is not an IBAN number, this is something very unique that is not used in SA. SA banks use SWIFT/BIC + Branch Code + Account Number for international payments, that is however not an IBAN number.
I've literally made payments on foreign invoices with their stated IBAN number from FNB.

"The IBAN consists of up to 34 alphanumeric characters comprising a country code; two check digits; and a number that includes the domestic bank account number, branch identifier, and potential routing information. The check digits enable a check of the bank account number to confirm its integrity before submitting a transaction."

Transaction account interest rates have dropped to 1% + your rewards level interest rate.

Savings accounts remain at 5.75% + your rewards level interest rate.

Both being for positive balances.

I see the feul rewards was also paid in Miles. Pitty they forgot that I have more than one vehicle on my plan and still owe me the feul rewards on the 2nd car

Is the second vehicle on your name as the primary driver as well or the wife’s? Apparently that’s what makes the difference

So would like to move most of my other spend off Standard Bank. I don’t want the Discovery CC and know the bundled accounts should start getting miles.

Any idiots guide to this?
