Discovery Bank

i am trying to complete their application and have got stuck. I need to input a date of birth. It needs to be in a particular format, but I can't work out what that is. Has anyone done this and can remember how to enter dates? thanks in advance for any help

It's either the US or standard format can only be one or the other ddmm Vs mmdd
 
Once you have activated your card I assume you need to update your beneficiary details to pay the new credit card. The card has an account number and a credit card number. DO you update the bank to Discovery and then the reference to the credit card number ?

A side note, I did a small payment to my card yesterday just to test.

Paid R100 from my fnb at about 15:45, got a notification at 19:00 saying the money was paid into my discovery card from discovery.

Hopefully it will be quick with all the banks.

I guess this is one down-fall to them moving away from FNB. Transfers from FNB to Discovery won't be immediate :( and I'm not willing to make discovery bank my main bank until it's been tried and tested for awhile.

Anyone know if the 10 000 miles earn limit is still applicable each month?
 
I went through the different pages and it seems like this below comparison is what we will be getting. These are our options. The transaction only accounts have almost no rewards. Those of us using the gym booster, that benefit will only be on the Suite accounts.

The banking fee noted includes the Vitality money fee.

Personally I am still undecided.

My big question now is how long and how hard is it to reach that "Up to ..." point on the discounts? Anyone who is already signed up know how long its going to take you to get to Vitality Money gold/Diamond status, or whatever you need to get the max cashbacks?
 
Does your old gold credit card become inactive ?

Just saw. This sucks because I don't want a credit card at all.

I believe there is a disconnect between that "Vitality Money" page and the account pages. We will then have to wait and see, but I believe it should be 20%. Unfortunately on this page, https://www.discovery.co.za/bank/discovery-banking-suite-comparison , it still shows 15% max.

That will hurt those rewards if you don't have the credit card. I think they might also force you to use the credit card, as you might only get the cashback when you swipe the card, like with eBucks. In the past we could get Vitality cashbacks even if we swipe our FNB card for eg.
