This Bank is so ****. I have to wait 20 days for my account to be closed :laugh:
 
Clicked on a link on the main Discovery website that said log in to online baking and got this:

That page has been like that since they announced the bank last year...not sure if they are planning to use it, or if they just wanted to own the url.
 
If you take out the double backslash at the end you get a proper site but now I'm worried that its actually the real thing...?

Look and feel is also very similar to FNB. Except where FNB has turquoise/greenish buttons they have brown-goldish buttons. Is Discovery in bed with the First Rand group? If so, then no point in leaving FNB for Discovery Bank now is there... hmmmm... [pondering]

It’s the old online banking site for Discovery Card / FNB. Has nothing to do with Discovery Bank.
 
Seems those of us who only chose credit cards when we joined can now add a transaction account though the app. However there is only a pay as you transact option and not bundle pricing.

Ah yes I see that, I'm.not adding anything more until they send out a brochure / spend matrix etc , even after that I dont see any benefit for me to add a transaction account, if there was lounge access and gym booster was available for platinum (premier membership) then maybe

I see that only Black gives the booster for premier membership but is that up to 100%? I also notice that Virgin membership sign-up fees have now changed (at least different from when I signed up a few years ago). I might be interpreting it incorrectly but it seems like changes to membership plans means paying the undiscounted full month membership as a joining fee now.

Where are you seeing the gym membership info?

Also I received my transactional card today and it came with a healthy food card, even though I have one through med aid. I phoned them and they claimed :

1. If I activate the new card and shop at pnp paying with my disc card my cashback will be greater than the 25% I get on the old card
2. The old card would remain active and I can continue to use it, earning 25% and paying with any card.
3. The amount more than 25% is dependent on account type and vitality money status. However the grid of what you earn more is unknown and not available.

Can anyone clarify these points, especially the two healthy food cards.
 
What I'd like to know is WTF do you need a Healthy Food card at all?

Everyone gets a Vitality Savings Account (I think) as this is where cashbacks etc are paid to. If you have CC + trans then you have the suite. CC only then you have the CC package.

To confirm your package go back to the Account opening letter found in Documents folder of the app where it gives the information and link to view your fees
 
I currently only have the Credit card and savings account. If i go to open an account the only type of transaction account is pay as you transact for R 45 a month. Is this the you took @PotatoGuardian
 
Is there a way to see the different benefits between credit card and a credit card & transaction account ?
 
Thanks Main difference appears to be the flights and gym discount
