So interesting times with Discovery and Covid 19.
Discovery's policy with chronic medicine is that you can only collect your medicine every 24 days. Normally I went on day 28-30, depending on how my week goes.
The day before lockdown, I stood in Clicks' queue for over an hour only to be informed me that I'm a day early (Day 23) I wasn't sure of the number of days either. The pharmacist said that the system didn't allow her to process my claim. As I wasn't planning on returning on the 1st day of lockdown and probably standing in another +60min queue - I paid cash.
I submitted my claim manually with Discovery with them rejecting it twice.
I'm completely on board with the below explanation, but this is not normal times we are living in.
They have responded:
We have processed your claim dated 25 March 2020 from Clicks Pharmacy for Rxxx. We have not paid this amount as this item was filled early based on the number of days since the previous fill.
Medicine is dispensed on a 23 day cycle. Although we approve medicine for a full months’ (30 days) supply, a member is able to claim for an early refill of medicine for the following month, 23 days after the last claim date, should this be required.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
