Anybody doing this?

Its an app for your smart phone that challenges you and everyone to drive better.
It measure how well you drive and gives you points. A rather clever marketing idea I must add.

You can find this is in the playstore.

I'm having lots of fun with it. Doing great when I'm using the car but apparently it doesn't like my acceleration on the bike so much.

You can read more in this thread:

I have been using it for about a week now. Has been interesting. Can add friends too and compare your driving. My driving score is a solid 95.

@ GMAN03, when you go in view your trips, slide a trip to the right and you can note that it is "not a car" or "passenger" if you weren't the driver.

Yip - the Discovery insurance okes are pretty clever with their driving style thing.

I know some people that save quite a bit with their safe driving tracking incentives.

Heh. Feels the same about my car as about your bike :p

Pfft. I know how I drive, I don't need an app telling me. I didn't buy my car to see how slowly I can accelerate, smooth I can turn a corner or how little I can use the brakes. I got it to feel the acceleration, listen to the thunder of the engine and enjoy myself.

Running RaceChrono is far more fun.

Interesting, I'll be sure to give this a try. Maybe it'll help give me a better feel for how they calculate the monthly driver score exactly.

Alternatively I could just tone down the speeding, but hey, baby-steps. :D

Any reason they ask for your ID number when signing up?

Sounds interesting, when I ride to/from work on my bicycle I usually run Sports-Tracker which does pretty much the same thing. Could be fun to use this app in the car because I already have a vehicle tracker for which I wrote the configuration. I have it set to beep on harsh acceleration and braking, so some of my rides are very much a beepfest :D

Find and empty stretch of freeway. pedal to the metal, until 120, then sudden brake. repeat permitting no other vehicles are around. then see how it beeps.

:D playing it safe. I guess we only have about 10 years before telemetry makes massive inroads into cars straight off the production line. Not sure if that is a good thing...

The app complains about my acceleration all the time even though I seem to hold up the traffic around me...
