Discovery Insure

I understand Discovery recently (1 June 2011) went live offering short term insurance.

They have a few free extras that could be usefull, but there is no talk of a claim free bonus. They also have this innovative vitality drive which seems to reward good drivers through tracking.

Has anyone used them? Are they competitively priced? any views?

Claim free bonus (payments) are anyway just built into a premium.

Personally my advice from experience with regards to insurance is work through a broker and not direct. Your going to get the cover you need from the insurer thats going to cover you the way you should with the payments you should be paying. Oh and brokers work out cheaper than going direct contrary to what Outsurance wants to make you believe.

It looks like a step changing product for the direct insurance model because of all the features, and with the 40% discount on fuel it is worth looking at for anyone on outsurance type of policy. The rates are not the cheapest, so you would need to compare the total value before you decide. I read about it on the discovery website, so u get benefits !! Problem is you pay for it...how much ? don't know as you have to get a "quote" so you end up paying a premium , have to do some testing/checks and get some tracking device which i'm sure u pay for and have to keep earning points every month. Which marketing genius thought this s*** up ? So after paying all this this i wonder if you actually do benefit / save anything??
