Discovery Vitality 2022

I often get the R75 tile maybe once a month... these stupid travel rewards gave me nothing except extremely low miles for my plays. Also less then 200 on all 4 plays this week and last.

OK, going for Silver in the next couple of months and have 10000 points to do so. I haven't focused much on Vitality points with not going to gym, so started last year when I got a mountain bike. Got to Bronze by the end of 2021 which was great.

Can anyone let me know how my wife can earn points towards our goal? She runs, and can do the Vitality Age/Health check etc. But I have never found out how to track her stuff. Would obviously help as a combined effort.

Does anyone know when the new device benefit will be active/launched?

Don't even bother with whether you’re on Silver or Gold or Diamond unless you’re about to book plane tickets (discount depends on tier). Rather focus on scoring five out of five for your health checks so you max out the HealthyFood discounts.

I'm hungover today so my heart rate is up and I got 300 points for carrying twelve Powerades around PicknPay in a basket for half an hour.
So is that the only benefit left on vitality silver/gold/diamond levels now?

Also, assuming you were willing to do the necessary, is Discovery Bank well worth the rewards? Ie more out than the monthly cost?

As far as I understand the other big benefits with levels comes in if you are with the bank and especially if you also have life insurance with Discovery.
If you have life insurance and you are on diamond, you get something like 50% of premiums back per year if not 75%, I can't quite remember.

I think so. Gym may also benefit from a higher tier but I don’t use gym so haven't researched it.

I benefit from Discovery Bank. Main perks are getting to 40% discount on D-Day, and I get to about 45% earn on HealthyFood. If you go with Bank, you have to spend big on the credit card. I hit about R13k a month on my card, and my benefits max at R25k.

Sorry, I should've been clearer. I have 0 plays although I've completed the weekly goal.

Usually your play will only show up the week after you reach the goal, so ja last weeks goal was supposed to show up today.
I can't tell you if there's a problem since I didn't reach my goal last week. :D

Ok sounds interesting, i get 25% & R500-800 in healthyfood plus I'm at around R20k pm or so through their card, so sounds like it would make sense to get the Bank? Am currently just on Plat credit card, but not sure which suite to pick for the rewards.

Bloody chops forgot to record my Park Run on Christmas Day so didn't get a play this week. Luckily it was addressed but not in time for me to get a play so will get two chances next week.

Definitely. I'm getting far in excess of my bank fees + vitality fees back in miles without much effort at all. But as you hint at.. you have to jump through the hoops. But I don't mind that personally.

At R20k pm I think Platinum or Platinum Suite is fine.

I didn't realise you already had the card. If you already use Vitality Money, then when it comes to card only vs suite, that's another discussion. Suite gives you an extra 5% discount (10% on D-Day), and slightly better interest rate on savings, plus a bigger iPhone subsidy if that's important to you.

Thanks. Ive got the card but no vitality money yet. So can you be on the credit card + discounts without needing to be a banking suite client?

Yes, as long as you have Vitality Money active.

See this link for an easy way to see how credit card only compares to suite:
