Disgusting MWEB "uncapped" quality

Maybe on an obscure news host you will still be unshaped, fine.... but they will get you.

Don't lie to me about rapidshare, maybe if your on 512 but I know for a fact 4 meg rapidshare has been running at about 30Kb/sec today and MAX 100Kb/sec the whole week.

So according to you giganews is an obscure news host!!!! OK whatever. On the rapidshare issue, I have no complaints. I'm not getting full speed, but I've never had speeds slower than 80KB/s for rapidshare. Keep in mind that I actually pay for a rapidshare premium account. If you're using the free downloads option then you will get crap speeds, but that's not MWeb's fault.

Oh so I'm right then, pfft.

Look, 80Kbsec is pig-sheet for big downloads.

AND, they throttle you no matter how many gigs you done, 1 or 100.

PATHETIC.

BTW I don't care how cool you think you are wasting my bandwidth pool. I'm complaining, it's my right.

Stop being so cheap. You want to download all day at full speed, dig into your wallet and fork out real cash for a proper uncapped acount (axxess express, openweb etc.). Stop driving a Toyota and complaining that's it doesn't perform like a BMW.

I'm gone. Enjoy your unsubstantiated rant, it lacks anything worthwhile. I'm not going to lose sleep over it. The lease you could do is say why you're unhappy, with evidence to strengthen you view. Otherwise you're wasting YOUR evidently precious bandwidth.

Oh, so you've not read my other threads, well thank yourself for that.

What exactly is your complaint... in clear succinct English.

Mweb are very open that they shape non-priority traffic based on network load. This is NOT, and I'll repeat it in even bigger letters, NOT throttling.

I would guess that rapidshare, etc etc all fall into the non-priority traffic rules.

What a noob. The Mweb rep has spent a lot of time here explaining how their shaping works, and that http users get priority, and that sites like rapidshare and megaupload are shaped. Your account is not running at full speed because you don't know how to make it run at full speed. If you want to blame anyone, blame yourself for being too stupid to do that.

You know, I was almost going to get involved until you mentioned that the TOS is crap. IT's the TOS if you don't like it feel free to cancel.

BTW it doesn't come with free ice cream either... is that also BS.

If you can give a valid concise reason for your anger then great, otherwise THREAD FAIL.

Meh...uncapped = bleakness to a selected few....random party hats are handed out...the others get dud Christmas crackers with snake eyes inside ;)

Axxess = Bleak ; Afrihost = Bleak; Mweb = Looking Bleak for me have no idea what this thread is about but I guess I'm approaching the topic title.

I don't want answers, explanations, I want reasonable results ;)

I wonder if I will be billed a double whammy this month for Mweb ?? Will check it out in the a.m.

I wonder if I can upload back what I downloaded & call it a day ??

I'm very happy with my mweb 4mb account. Between me and visiting friends, I've done 210GB this month (though the rate is slowing down drastically, since I need to get new hard drives, and I'm already keeping my spare time filled with the stuff I've downloaded).
HTTP is great all hours, and I don't mind torrents crawling during the day because at night it flies. Rapidshare I'm getting the same speeds I used to get of about 80kb/s, as mentioned above (due to me not having a paid account with them), but I tend to use torrents, so I'm not concerned with that.
All in all I'm very happy with mweb's service so far, and since the afrihost's uncapped seem to be suffering under the changing T&Cs, it seems like I'm going to stay with mweb. :)

Another happy MWEB customer. My 4meg line got faster since yesterday. My download speed hovered around 210kbps, now its 430kbps+, sometimes even faster. Does it take time for everything to settle down?

Keep up the good work, MWEB!

lol 210kbps is the BAD for you guys??? :O wow!!!

I'm on Imagine and cant exceed 40kpbs on a 4meg line, absolutely disgusting!!! Looks like Mweb is the only way to go!

mweb is the best!!

at the moment my free 512 line account is averaging 80kb/s on my 4mb line...during business hours

at night i average over 130kb/s.

no complaints!!

FTW!

Dunno what the OP is talking about, MWEB are great at the moment.

My torrents drop down to around 60-80kb/s during the day but easily speed up to 250-400kb/s at night. Really can't complain in this country for that at R800/m.
I don't use newservers, but HTTP downloads (ie: Rapidshare, not that I touch it) are always top speed.

My only strife is Telkom, as my DSL link keeps breaking. -_-

Yeah must agree , I'm super happy with MWEB . my friend decided to join one of the IS uncapped based ISP so we can run some comparison about performance etc . Just a small example . I was able to pull the same 350MB file with a FREE Rapidshare account going at 60-100KBs during the day (11am) while he was sitting on 6KB with his PREMIUM Rapidshare account .MWEB CHURSHES any other cheap uncapped ISP at the moment on performance

Starting to think the OP really does work for Afrihost... considering his last attempts at trolling (to get me to respond)

Just signed up, 384 connection is peachy keen. Browsing is more responsive than our old Cybersuck account. I realise torrents will be slower, but I'll still be able to pull more than 3gb without ever having to "topup" again!! (R69 p/GB indeed!)
A happy customer over here.
