Dishwasher replacement. Recommendations? LG Direct Drive?

Would like to find out more about this. Is it good to use salt now and then? Keep the 'pipes' clear?

Only pump issue I have had was the drain pump = bottom left corner. It literally screws apart and you can clean the impeller. In my case, there was a piece if broken glass in the impeller. Not sure how it got past the filter?

1) What were the symptoms of this?
2) Which brand?

There will be a place at the bottom of the machine to put in salt.

It does two things, it a. acts as a chelating agent b. sanitises the machine.

Most muni water is rich in Calcium magnesium and the like.

A good rinse with only vinegar from time to time sorts out the deposts and keeps the machine clean.

Was the Whirlpooi - but most machines are similar.

The machine wont drain and you will hear a disruptive whirring as well as error code.
