Do you guys remember the adds that said dishwashers save more energy and all that BS?

As per Eskom they say it uses as much a a geyser, the highest user of kilowatts in the home.

Thats misleading advertising!!

There is no way a dishwasher can use as much power as a geyser.
Maybe what they mean is that a dishwasher uses hot water wich makes the geyser use more power.

My dishwasher takes from the cold water line and then heats that water to 55°c . . . on top of that the drying cycle has to chow a significant amount of power.

That said I'm not sure exactly how much it consumes or how it compares to the geyser.

Using a dishwasher, stfu eskom.

Besides, it saves a lot of time - just dump the dishes in, switch it on, and do other work. Or play with your kids.

Your call.

Wash dishes, ignore kids/SU, unhappiness.

Let dishwasher work, play with kids/SU, happiness.
