I think that while technically illegal, in reality these companies don't really care, they know we are using VPN and just do enough to look like they making the effort but at the end of the day a paying customer is money in the bank.
There is no way with everything they log that the do not know exactly which accounts are not in America, there is no way that 1 minute you are in South Africa and the next your in America and that's legit.
I think at least to some degree us breaking the law in a manner that benefits them just highlights and pushes the need for fenceless digital solution. With less and less people using satellite and cable services world wide, these exclusive rights agreements are on their way out.
To them, a guy paying and using a VPN is the same guy NOT sitting on TPB. They only benefit on 1 of those 2 scenarios, which is all they really care about.
