I watched this with the mrs this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was refreshing to see a disney movie that didn't contain a romance angle. Hopefully this will become more popular.

The basic plot revolves around a young girl who has to set out to find a demigod to save her island.

Here's a snippet of the movie's most catchy tune, performed by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

It also has music performed by Jemaine Clement from Flight of the Conchords.

It was good, but for me with Disney's new streak of 3d animated movies, it goes like this: Tangled > Zootopia > Frozen > Moana > Bolt > Wreck-It Ralph

Moana was a little too feel-good and female empowerment focused, and a little too short on the witty dialogue and memorable songs. And Tangled doesn't get nearly as much credit as it deserves; my kids have watched that film ~20 times and not gotten tired of it.

Amateurs :p My two did 60+ of that movie.
Come to think of it Wall-E, Cars 1, Frozen, Ice Age 2 & 5, Minions and Zootopia probably also have that amount.
And then we are not even talking about Peppa & Thomas on the iPad :o

I'm still surprised that Tangled cost as much as Titanic to make. Wasn't even ground breaking animation.

It cost quite a bit more - $260 mil vs $200 mil. I guess adjusted for inflation it's closer. To be honest I can see that there was some pretty groundbreaking animation in the characters; it is still a gorgeous movie. But still I think they must have overshot their budget hugely on it.

Has to be the 6 year production period. The longer a movie takes to make the more expensive it becomes.

Looking forward to The Incredibles sequel.

So no love for Inside Out?

Inside Out and Incredibles 2 are Pixar. I guess that's Disney as well but I was thinking of the in-house Disney stuff.
