Dissapointment

Which capsule did you use? That makes a difference.
I love my nespresso machine.

Having done extensive research on this just recently this DeLonghi:

Is probably the best "entry level" espresso maker, you can get it around 2000 if you're lucky.

Thank you. I appreciate the pointers from all you coffee connoisseurs... sadly I got the Nespresso machine on advice from somebody who claimed to be one. He drove a new Jaguar so I believed he had class, shows how superficial one's perceptions can be. Clearly he has no class, because he says Nespresso capsule coffee is excellent. ;) I shall mention this to him in passing, damn Philistine.

We have 3 machines at work and I have one at home
1 Nespresso, 2 DeLonghi bean to cup machines and 1 Breville Barista style machine.
Personally I can't drink the nespresso pods but love the rest.

Haha not a connoisseur by any means, never even made an espresso because sadly life intervened before I bought one, but much research was done before attempting the purchase, here's a really cheap burr grinder as well:

Probably not any good as far as they go but it'll beat a blade grinder any day apparently.

I bought a variety of brands. They all taste k.k. I do know it's a taste thing though. My SO thinks it's fine.

Actual nespresso pods or the generics?
There are about 20 different flavours of the nespresso genuine pods.

Best coffee is Frisco or Ricoffy. I tried all of those newfangled machines and grinders and such but none of them comes close.

They suggest that exact grinder to many people.
Very reliable grinder.

+1.
But then, I also like Spur so what do I know.

I bought a Dulche gusto pod machine rather than a nespresso machine myself.
mostly because the way it looks. reminds me of Star Treck.
put in cup and pod, push the button and say "tea, Earl Grey" have a small nerdgasm, then get a very decent espresso/whatever pods you put in.

yes it is no where near as good as a proper freshly ground espresso, but, at 5:30 am I don't have the co-ordination to operate heavy machinery, so the pods get me to the point where I can get to be awake.

I also dislike the Nespresso coffee. I just picked up an Aeropress. I like it so far.

Big ugly machine with little thimble shots of coffee, no thanks.

But saying make it so makes up for that. And the milo pods are amazing

I can supply you with a free ricoffy refill the next time I sweep my driveway.
