Good day,

I have been having problems with my Telkom ADSL since 15/10/2009. According to them (telkom) there is a noise on my line. Every time i phone they tell me there is a technician in my area busy working on the problem.

In the meantime i'm being billed for adsl but it's not working.

Does anybody have ideas as to what i can do or maybe escalate this to somebody up the ladder at telkom?

Help would be appreciated...

Thanks
David

Escalate to the supervisor and get names.

call billing and claim a credit.

When I was down for a few days and they credited me.
Agree, in the dark ages when I was dependant on telkom service, I got credit more than once because of adsl not working! So, just call their accounts dep with your reference number.

Yes, bekdik is right, just keep your ref numbers that you got when dialing the 0800 number and claim for the down time. The bad news however is Telkom work on the principle of, you first have to pay while the line is down and then once it is fixed, you can claim and get CREDIT back for that time, but not an actual refund. Their reasoning: they can't give you credit before the line is fixed, because they don't know when it will be fixed. As for refunds, if I remember correctly, they told me that their SYSTEM don't allow for refunds.

Their SYSTEM doesn't allow for many things!!! My address is entered incorrectly in the phone book and their SYSTEM don't allow for the address to be changed, so I had my number removed from the book.

They need to fire SYSTEM and appoint someone more competent. :D

we had some line disconnections due to Telkom work on cabling - my statement includes R5.11CR for service disruption!!! And I never even asked for it!!!! Is the beast beginning to learn?

When the ISP call centre (0800 500 200) tells you they're offline (yesterday) or the network is slow (today) ... I am not sure if I should laugh at them or tell them to feel our pain!
