Messi missed a big part of his last season injured, yet he was still able to pickup 2nd place.
If he stays fit this season there is no doubt who will get the award, like i have said before I think he will pick the award up many more times.

He's not having an awful season - he has actually managed a fair few goals and some decent performances. You forget that he was out of it for quite a while. You used that excuse with Messi last season... remember?
Missing a couple of games at the start of the season when you have rested from a "planned" operation.
Is a big difference from being injured, getting put in early and getting injured again.Then playing a lot of games not fully fit, such as in messis case.
Even when messi was half-fit he still put in a better performance between the 2 players in the manu v barca game, hence he got man of the match.Would be good to see how many games he actually played fully fit last season.

Its awful if he is supposed to be the best player on the planet. Why does everybody say Ronaldo was out of it? He had a planned operation in the off season.
Very much different compared to getting injured during the season and trying to get back to fitness quicker than usual to help the team. Ronaldo had the entire off season to rest.

Nah! they just argue the same way (in contradicting circles). Everything for them is Barca this.... Barca that....but you cant do the same for your team cause you bias
. They are just bitter towards United and particularly Ronaldo....but its understandable after we beat them in the semis and won the CL, on top of that Ronaldo beat Messi to player of the year and Messi wont achieve what Ronaldo did last season.rofl... Ronaldo was last season, this season so far is going towards Messi no arguments there.
But ya those two are very pro Messi and Barca... if Messi was playing for say AC milan I don't think he'd get the backing as much

Bah... I don't get the fascination with Messi and Ronaldo. Ronaldinho was the king and that is that. He might be quite a bit sh1ttier now, but he was beyond Godlike when he was at the top. Personally I don't care whether he worked as hard as Messi or had the goal ratio of Ronaldo or whatever - he was fun to watch and I was applauding him after that amazing goal against Chelsea in the CL (when Barca won it). I mean... the guy is insane.
You only have to look at the similarity of your and Genius' posts to see why I asked the question. What is the point of repeating what the other said?

Yeah, but you can't even give props where they're due. Ronaldo was phenomenal last season, and every time someone mentions it, you guys jump in with the 'Messi' speech. I'm not trying to goad you guys into an argument, but that is what you have been doing. Yes, Messi is having a brilliant season, and is one of the best players in the world atm, but why can't you even acknowldge what Ronaldo has done?
