Divoom xForce 1h crap?

What I have learned from It equipment is that you never buy to cheap or to expensive. This divoom speakers looks like crap. If you really want good sound at a good price go for the logitech X530/X540 or if you really want good sound at a high price go for the Z5500.

We bought some Creative 2.1 system for my mother and I though why not try it on my pc with my Asus xonar d1 sound card to see if it's good and omw this is really bad for gaming as well. To much treble.

I will never suggest anyone to go for other speakers than Logitech X540 or X530 again. Mine I've been having for 6 years and it's still going strong. or if you want the 2.1 system you can go for this. http://www.shopmania.co.za/shopping~online-multimedia-speakers~buy-logitech-x-230~p-38157.html

It's a pity Logitech's new range of speaker replacements are of lesser quality than previous models.

Z4 replaced with Z523, which has a smaller sub and no wired remote.

Z2300 replaced with Z623, which also has cheaper (lighter) components and also no wired control.

I have the Z4 and Z2300, awesome speakers and about the best sound quality you'll get at the price.

Would love some bookshelf speakers, which is why I'm also getting the Krator Neso 02 N2-20050 at about R800 retail. I reviewed them.

After testing and wearing them in, I can definitely recommend these speakers! Had Z4s to compare them with. Listened to a variety of music (IDM/glitch, post-rock, rock, indie, dubstep, classical-influenced) and played a game of Starcraft 2. Will do a more in-depth review in a new thread soon.

All in all, I was sad going back to my Z4s. Music experience is much better on the Krators, without a doubt. Will be ordering mine on Monday.

I'll start with the negatives:

-Left speaker's mid driver did not work properly out of the box. After re-plugging it in, it was 100%. I felt a bit sceptical at that point!

-Volume controls (as well as bass and treble) on the side of the right speaker. A remote would have been great (so used to having one). One would have to use software/keyboard/etc. volume controls unless they lean forward to adjust the volume on the speaker.

-The 4" sub drivers do not produce deep bass that some genres would demand, especially DnB, dubstep ,hip-hop etc., although mostly the bass is above acceptable. The difference in longer bass notes was especially noticeable, although I am used to my boomy Logitech Z4 sub which handles low, long bass much better (due to being 2.1 and the sub being a few inches bigger I guess).

-Driver finishes could be better. Of course, they are no KRK Rockits though.

-Cabling could be a bit thicker.

-No speaker covers (black ones would be nice) although the look did grow on me.

-Regarding warranty, the info seemed to made it clear that speakers are normally repaired instead of swapped-out. Not sure how accurate that is, but I know that Logitech would swap out with no questions asked.

And the positives:

-Music listening is a lot better than 2.1. You really notice the difference that the mid drivers make, the fuller sound. I heard sounds and melodies that I had not heard before on the Z4s.

-Excellent for Starcraft 2 and games that aren't too bass-heavy. I really enjoyed the sounds and directional accuracy in the game I played. FPSes and other bassy games would be a lot more immersive with 2.1. For games that don't need too much bass, Then I think these would be fantastic.

-Very accurate tweeters and treble can be adjusted. I kept it at half-way.

-Bass can be adjusted, also kept at half-way.

-Well built and they feel solid.

-RCA inputs.

-Line in on side of right speaker for iPods etc.

-Good packaging.

How are these speakers, i want to change my 2.1 for the 5.1

What si your budget vincent?

Hi doob

At the moment my budget is around R1000 - though I haven't given that much thought.

What drew me to this set was the price. After reading up the Z4 though, I am now reconsidering.

Surely a 5.1 system should produce better sound quality than a 2.1 regardless of the make?

Z4 is end of life, although you might still be able to pick up Z4i (white).

5.1 will produce seemingly better sound when you're playing 5.1 stuff - movies, games etc.

But, music is always stereo/2.0/2.1, so good 2.x speakers will be better for music than cheaper 5.1...

Thanks mate - that clarifies things. In your opinion, would the Z523 suffice for music etc.?

White speakers are fail with a black pc.

My ignorance of speakers is depressing.

P.S. The X530's bass is wholly unstable? So much as to make it a bad purchase?

The Z4s are totally superior to the Z523 (Z4 replacements), but the Z523 will be about the best you can get for their price. If you can deal with the white Z4s you really should get them. Better sub, satellites, and volume/bass control. I actually bought a set of Z4i just because my Z4 are so good, that are still in the box.

The X530 are rated pretty highly in terms of value for money, but the Z523 will be better for music.

Hi Postman. I've since read a few reviews on the Z4... and, well they rock :P

I've found a black set for R885 and plan on finalising the purchase tomorrow.

Your help was much appreciated, thanks!

Hey Postman

Z4i :/ What got me excited was the numerous hits on PriceCheck. I've contacted a few other stores and am awaiting reply.
If someone still has them in stock I'll let you know, though it seems the 523's are in order.

I will give my +1 to the Z4's , really good at the price.

Rectron still list them on the current price list, although I haven't checked availability from them.

Where you located?

So I ordered this set yesterday, waiting for them to arrive. Does anyone else have something to say about this set? I've been reading online and it's mostly positive feedback, couple of mixed opinions.

Also what would be a fair price to pay for this set?

Just hooked my set up to my DSTV decoder and watching/listening to MTV - ain't too shabby!

Now how do I go about adding my PS3 and/or Mac to to it?!?!?

I dunno about that exact model, but I have a 2.1 Divoom setup and for the price I paid I am very happy with it. Using it for my HTPC sound.

I work in PC retail and I can honestly say the newer Logitechs are rubbish compared to the previous generation ones. They sound very hollow and the new airhole design does nothing for them.

X530's are still around for good reason :)
Divoom's are cheap but decent for the price.
I am not a huge fan of Creative speakers, they look cheap and don't sound so great.

+1, Logitech have disappointed.

And Creative - worst ever after-sales service/RMA. 4 weeks and I'm still waiting. At least Logitech still win in that regard.
