Nothing wrong with that, thats how I got divorced. Was quicker, cheaper and less painful. Better get it over and done with earlier as its natural for resentment to settle in.

Its wonderful if you can agree on how to exit without having to fight with each other. Makes it easier to move on and not hold grudges against each other.

In my case I walked out with R1000 to get back to the Cape, left all the assets for the wife including the business. We worked so hard on building up the business that last thing we wanted was to see it all lost to lawyers fees if we ever tried to fight for it. We are now best friends and have both moved on.

There's no fighting, like I've said previously, everything has already been agreed on.

Starting to wonder if people even read before posting :p

All I want to know is if I physically need to go to the lawyers office and sign the papers, or if they can just send it to me via whatever means so that I an sign them.

Until Department Of Home Affairs says your divorced, your not and things can still change.

No we don't

In my case I had to sign at a lawyers office even though it was not my lawyer. Cost me a couple of hundred rand as my lawyer was in Pretoria and I moved to the Strand. But that was in 2001 so things can change.

So basically it's within my right to ask them to bring to documents to me, rather than me having to go in and sign?

I mean, we paying them for a service, the least they can do it deliver the damn documents :p
This is not a matter governed by rights that can be enforced - it's a private matter between you and the lawyer. Discuss it amicably with her/him and come to a mutually-acceptable agreement. If the lawyer has to incur extra costs to go to you, then of course it is entirely reasonable that those costs be recovered from you, along with the costs of administering those expenses in the practice (yes, it costs time/money to capture expenses, make out invoices, etc).

The service you're paying for might not include document delivery. Just ask. And if you want the docs delivered and then collected, tell 'em.

Negotiate. It's not that hard.

Thanks for your reply Arthur, much appreciated.

Been trying to reach the lawyer since this morning to negotiate delivery of the documents, but alas, she's either out or not available. Dropped her an email and awaiting their response.
