That is a reality but most crimes are ones of opportunity and you don't need to spend too much to protect your property here.
 
Busy renting a place with 2 mates atm and we just got robbed about 2 weeks ago. Doesn't seem like any security is really enough to stop people these days.

They lifted the gate off the rail, took a pick axe and broke the security gate open, then hacked through the door with the pick axe (setting off the alarm), they then proceeded to grab what they could (TV,PS3,PC monitors). By the time the security company gets here they're already gone. Police came to do finger prints and found nothing (apparently)...I say apparently because the guys left their pick axe in our lounge :/

Yesterday our next door neighbour got broken into but the farkers came through our side and hopped the wall to do it but this time the gate was left wide open and was still no the rail, suggesting that they've managed to clone our remote now. They tried to take the same things from our next door neighbour (TV and PC monitors) so we're thinking it's probably the same people. They also have burglar bars and security gates everywhere, as well as an alarm.

So I give up, I'll just make sure I have insurance and hope that I'm never home whenever I eventually get robbed again >.<

Love them and bought more to finish off my property. Never had a breach and people are k@k scared to touch them. My one wall only has them clipped on and nobody has lifted them up.

Actually the only break in I had they climbed onto the garage roof where I did not have spikes.

After 5 years (4yr 10mths to be exact), they are still looking good considering the harsh sun. I get a lot of people asking me where I go them.

Cool. How strong would you say they are? I know they are not your average cheap plastic, but the fact that they are a plastic is slightly off putting. Have you ever tried to bend or break the spikes sticking off of the circle or anything like that?

Problably glass fibre nylon at a guess so good luck.

They are "glass fibre, polyamide reinforced" whatever that is. How strong would that be?

They have prices on their website R140pm.

Strong enough. They don't break off easily.

Ask for a sample and see for yourself? I had them installed at my old property and was very impressed. I'm sure they could be hacksaw'd off but what a mission. I couldn't bend them with my hands.

Going to take a few blades, the glass is going to blunt the blades very quickly and the heat will have the nylon grip the blade.

And they'll be trying to rotate at the same time you try cut them, what a mission. I really can't see it happening.

Not many if any lazy gun toting burglars are interested in that mission.
