DJI Mini SE

Anyone own one? They look pretty decent. Pity it doesn't have the Mini 2 controller, but still looks good for the R6k price tag.

Did we ever get the Mini 3 in SA?
Might get one - my Air is getting a little long in the tooth.

Think oom Bwana can answer that.
EDIT: Whoops, he was faster than me.

That’s a downgrade…unless there is something wrong with your Air, and you don’t have a huge budget but need a drone urgently, I would advise to rather save up and get at least a Mini 2

Don’t own one myself but can tell you it’s very decent, perfect if you want to get into drones but don’t want to spend too much.

Yes, the Mini 3 is also available in SA.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to find new batteries for the gen 1 Air and my kids are interested in flying so I figured it would be a great starter for them.

The sub 250g weight of it is also useful in some of the countries I fly in like the UK.

Got a Mini SE. And I love it! I can't really compare it to all the fancy DJIs out there, as the name suggest, this is a "budget" option, but it flies MUCH better than my iPhone :P. Jokes aside, the SE is really capable, and if you're a beginner, I'd say it's a good place to start. Price wise the Mini 2 and 3 are MUCH more and learning to fly and crash is better done with a cheaper drone. :P

I could never afford the much more capable drones, and I'm actually glad I could learn on this one. Not so many training wheels compared to the expensive ones.

I've been flying with my SE for about a year and a half. Takes great videos. BUT not 4k. 2.7k or something. But seriously, if you don't need 4k its not an issue.

Also, no collision sensors, so keep that in mind.

I would recommend getting the Flymore kit. It's got extra props and 3 batteries, instead of just 1.

Compared to the Mini 2, there are a couple of things that you might need to think about. The range of the Mini 2 is a lot better than the SE. So if you think you're going to send it off further than 2 km from you, then the Mini 2 is a better option.

Crashing the Mini SE isn't fun... I can tell you that! ... But with a bit of Pratley epoxy, you can fix most breaks :D
