Hi Guys

So as per my other thread, buddy got a DLink DSL G225 router. Ive helped him set things up, but as im not familiar with DLink menus, im not sure where to find the DNS.

Want to show him where he can manually change it.

This is basically what im seeing. Ive been through, all them, but cant find it. Only see DHCP or something like that.

I looked under all of them, and cant seem to see it. So im hoping somebody who has a DLink with this menu, can advise. I'll have another look under Wan. Thanks though

Different modem but mine is under the Advanced tab at the top.

Will have a look, thanks pal. I did click on the advanced tab, but cant remember seeing this. Ill pop in by him again tonight, and show all the menus of what im seeing. :)

Cant believe nobody else has this router, as Telkom said its the latest one they have. Or they only have the DLink G225 and a Zyxel router

No worries - different modem but hope it helps.

FWIW do you know how much the modem cost? With the money I can save by moving off Telkom Uncapped I might upgrade to 20mbps VDSL which means shopping for a new one.

If he's at home, tell him to give you the IP and connect to the modem now.

Also, 90% of us are at work now and unable to check - I use a 2750 as a modem only, so even if I try to connect I'll get to the admin page of my DD-WRT router :)

If you know anybody who has an MWEB FON modem/router you can yank that off them. It's VDSL capable as well.

Seems reasonable. Takealot has the D-link DSL-224 for R769 but I can't seem to find much info about it. Downloading the manual from their TW site was hopelessly slow.

I just downloaded the manual and it confirms it is under Advanced - DNS.

The G225 from Telkom is R999.. ADSL 2+ and VDSL, at least that is what i saw on his invoice :)

Thanks... but he is also working, but ill keep that in mind. Do i just hit the IP into the address bar?

Yes, you'll then have to log in as the Support user, not 100% sure what the password is, but you can try the defaults. Just a note, some of the more powerful settings are not available to the Support user, or are made read only. At least you'll be able to tell him where to go if that is the case.
