Hey fellow forumites,
Hoping that someone here can assist...
My Desktop PC at home, which is in the lounge and is also my entertainment hub for my music, movies, streaming etc is having a very strange issue whereby it's intermittently not connecting to the internet.
When I try view websites using my Mozilla browser, the pages won't resolve. However, when I try on my phone or laptop via Wifi, there's nothing wrong with my internet and it works perfectly. I tried changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to see if that helped, but it didn't. When I do the Windows troubleshoot, it's telling me that there's a DNS issue and that is why I can't connect to the web. How can that be when everything that's connecting wirelessly to my network is perfectly fine? Even when using DHCP assigned DNS on my desktop, it still does the same thing.
I also tried re-installing the Ethernet Drivers which fixed the problem for about 5mins and then I was back to intermittent connection. I also found that sometimes Mozilla won't open a page but then I try use Microsoft Edge and the page opens, and other times it doesn't.
Has anyone ever experienced something like this and what can I do to fix it? It's been like that all weekend and doing my head in!
TIA!
