Help me out please...

I have scored a Sony Ericsson GC85 data card which I am now going to use with a Vodacom account. I have set up and connected, and everything seems to work except browsing :(. I can ping IP addresses, but cannot open a web page...

I have checked:
1. My IP address : looks ok (10.49.158.xxx)
2. Default Gateway : 10.0.0.1
3. DNS addresses: 196.25.255.34, 196.25.255.3
4. APN = internet

what have I forgotten?

...yes? I still can't browse. :)

You sorted this out yet Arf??? If not, some pointers :

Try run NSLOOKUP from the command prompt to check if your DNS is working :

C:\>nslookup
Default Server: ppr-cache1-vif0.saix.net
Address: 196.25.255.34

Server: ppr-cache1-vif0.saix.net
Address: 196.25.255.34

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.myadsl.co.za
Address: 196.7.147.165

> exit

C:\>

Also may be a good idea to check and make sure that your browser is not set to use a proxy server. I know of some AV software that installs a proxy server locally and reconfigures your browser to hit it. If the local proxy has its DNS hard coded or it is not resolving, you will not be able to browse the web...
Oh, the Google accelerator does the same thing...
Cheers ~
