DNS Problems ?

Hi All

I have been having strange DNS problems for the last 2 nights. Wasn't even able to connect to the forum as it continually complained that it couldn't resolve the IP. IRC and MSN however worked fine as well as certain international sites like google etc. (I have not changed anything on my notebook)

The one change was that my personal domain and e-mail was moved to a US host. My P910i using GPRS can resolve the domain without a problem and connect to collect mail as well as my site, however my 3G Data Card and 3G connection refuses to see this.

Any ideas ? (v3g - Feedback will be appreciated)

I have experienced the same last night from 20h00 until about 23h30 when the problem seemed to disappear. Pings to www.mybroadband.co.za all came back "timed out" but yahoo pinged without a problem. Most local websites I pinged, timed out. The connection was on GPRS.

Nokia 6600 opened the forum website without a problem on GPRS.

mybroadband also dissapeared for me last night, same time. This was over ISDN to MWEB. I.e. nowhere close to the vodacom network or servers.

Thought the site was just down. If not, there must be a general DNS issue?

Hi v3g

I will try again tonight and let you know. I have had it with various sites however, and since my site is hosted in the US and just got moved I couldn't get to my mail or site on 3G but can fine with GPRS. Will post tonite if I can.
