Just walk into any Telkom shop and tell them you're there for the modem, they'll give it without hassles. Don't wait for the phonecall.

I ordered todaydid the self install... apparently after the price reductions on 1 Aug no free modem with self-install
How long do i wait to pick up the modem from telkom? Telskum said theyd phone me

It was supposed to end in August, apparently they kept extending the offer every time it ran out, so they might just re-announce it from August. But perhaps they've also just ran out of free modems.

How long do i wait to pick up the modem from telkom? Telskum said theyd phone me
I ordered today at Pavilion and was told to wait for about 2 weeks for the technicians to come out and do something to the line. I pointed out that others in the complex were already on ADSL, but was told this is standard procedure to make you wait from 3 to 14 days and the self-install kit will not be handed over until the techician comes out. Hope the stock of modems lasts.
How did you manage to do the self-install without the modem, etc? Update the forum when you do get the modem please.

Yip i did it.It is very easy. The problem is not the router but the line 
to bad u can not install that yourself i waited like 5 months for mine
Oh btw if u want advice rather spend few hundred bucks and stay away form telkom routers mine packed up like 6 months later

I ordered yesterday.. and had my line ADSL Enabled at 10am this morning....
Had a friend at telkom! Just got back from Sanlam Centre they said that the whole of Natal does not have any modems? is this true or does pav have any? @ pgs2050

Update... Got the modem...Finally got ADSL!
Which outlet did you get it from? Did they verify that the technician had come and sorted out your line first?
I am aware that you can get from ANY outlet. But Jeppe77 had earlier posted that there were no modems at any outlets in Natal.
I was told at the Pavilion outlet that they did have stocks but were only allowing one to collect after your line was sorted out by a technician. Unlike Jeppe77 I do not have any friends at Telkom who can sort my line out in 24 hours!
