Do Broadband 2 Query?

Can anyone confirm that i have 3 days to finish my cap? as my adsl service was active from yesterday?

Yip that is correct. Ag shouldn't be a problem, even a 384 line can get like 3GB on a single good day :)

EDIT: But get it in quick, last few hours of a month are sometimes a bit congested ;)

What kind of latency are you getting on a 384k line and what average are you getting on uplaod & download ??

Well, latency really depends. It's usually very good. I don't really use latency dependent things like international gaming or skype, but on a local account on a local games server, I was getting less than 50 ms ping to the server in Wolf Enemy Territory. That's more than likely becasue local is unshaped, and plus the SGS servers are pretty close to my house ;)

I do not upload much, but I'd guess that I'd get about 12-13 KBps up, and for downloads I just about always get 40 KBps.

:)

Hi.

Don't mean to steal this thread, but just a quick question on doBroadband? Are you able to order accounts from other ISPs once your cap has been reached (e.g. Openweb's 30gb local only account)??

Thnks

Yes, they allow one or two more ISP accounts afaik, best to phone them and check it out, but someone here already "confirmed" that they allow additional ISP connections.

I ordered today :D did the self install... apparently after the price reductions on 1 Aug no free modem with self-install:confused:How long do i wait to pick up the modem from telkom? Telskum said theyd phone me:eek:

Here is the promised answer. Free Modem.

The SIO promotion will continue to run with the installation fee of R437.50 (R490.00 as of August) that is waived when you do sel install, as of 31 August you will have to sign a contract for a free modem whether you opt for the SIO or not.

This is directly from the horses mouth.
