Hi, there's just a few things i want to know. On the level 3 Do broadband it states the price is without line rental, so how much more is the line rental? If you already have a telephone line (the line for calling etc) do you still have to pay the line rental? thanks very much

Do3 is ADSL + ISP (does not include land line)

All you need is a telephone line, which is not included in the Do3 price.

Your land line + Do3 (that's your ADSL & ISP) = Everything you need

Err, Do3 is everything except ADSL (Thats Do4) :)

And yes, its Line Rental, 1300 min free calls per second billing blah blah

LOL! Do Broadband level 3 from the telkom web-site:
do level 3 is the ultimate product providing the fastest fixed line broadband offering in South Africa as well as a generous data account. do level 3 includes Fastest DSL (up to 4096kbps based on broadband technology) accompanied by 5 120 Megabytes (5GB) worth of data. *Included is 30,720 Megabytes (30GB) of local only data usage.

Are you not confusing Do Broadband (which only has level1, 2 and 3 by the way) with the Closer options?

Yup - Closer options 1 & 2 seem the best deal for voice unless you are planning to do a lot of local/international calls within business (non callmore) time.
There is also no voice line installation charge if you choose a closer package.
Voice line is required for ADSL.

Do 1,2 or 3 for broadband.
(No installation fee if you choose self-install)
Those DoBroadBand packages include the ADSL Line rental.

Unfortunately not.
You need to get the voice line as well. (This a a bone of contention for many users including myself...)

ADSL supports voice as well as data over the same line.
So for Do 3 it would be R 554 p/m + voice line rental.

Go for a Closer package on the voice line and you will pay zero Installation fee.

You can always cancel the Closer voice package at any time and downgrade to the basic 'line rental' only for voice if you never really use a land line.

It is slightly cheaper than than the base line 'Closer' voice line rental package. (There should be no migration fee AFAIK and it will not affect the fact that you have not paid anything for the voice line installation)

If you already have an existing telephone line:
Then you will only pay the R 554 p/m additional for DoBroadband Level 3 including ADSL line rental.

If you don't have a line already installed, it will cost you about R400 to install the line and rental is R130

R554 + R130 = R 684

It says 5GB only but you get more than that. :)

I just ordered it myself last night. iBurst is giving me a cramp in my @ss lately.

:D

Amen to that.
I did the switch about +- 2-3 months ago and have never looked back.

Notice how those 'When will iBurst drop prices/increase caps' threads are STILL going way past the "100 days" Jannie van Zyl 'needed' to do just that.
Not to mention a number of locked threads on the basically the same issue.
Technically and billing wise their product is a nightmare.

Thats the reason why im asking. We currently have iburst and my brother said if i can give him a list of options we can change.

I asked them why my speed is so kek and they say its signal issues. Why if i have signal issues i got 2 months ago full speed and the last week like 10kbps with the router still on the same place the only difference is there is 1 more cloud in the sky.

Experienced the same speed issues while with iBurst.
ADSL in my experience - Speed remains basically 100% constant unless there is a total general international connectivity issue. (I have had zero issues thus far).
