Could someone pse confirm what my local Cell C shop says is the case: that even though our local Cell C coverage is delivered through a Vodacom (3G-HSDPA) tower in our fairly remote area, the R1499 promotional bundle of a modem plus 12 x 2GB of data monthly for a year will in fact work perfectly well?
If this really is the case, I can't understand why there's not a stampede for this offer even from areas which do not have the new high-speed Cell C towers -- these data bundles massively undercut VC and MTN, at about R110 for 2GB each month, roughly speaking if you deduct the value of the modem.
It was first said that this special offer would only work from dedicated Cell C towers, but my local shop now insists this is not the case: "Wherever there is a Cell C signal, even if it is delivered from a Vodacom tower, you will get your 2GB of data monthly, for the all-in price you have paid for a year up-front...." Is this really true?
