Do exclusives sell consoles?

Seems they do. But I wouldn't buy a console just for an exclusive

Can say the thought has never crossed my mind to buy a console due to an exclusive. The reverse reaction more likely.

The only reason I own a PS3 is for Gran Turismo and God of War.

Halo didn't continue on PC, stopped playing the Halo franchise. So no.

No **** sherlock, obviously exclusives sell consoles. Why else would they be exclusives if not to promote a console?

Not for me personally. I've seen many games I want that are exclusives to PS/XBox, yet I've never owned a console.

For me, if there is no PC edition of a game, its not worth playing. I have never regretted this choice.

On Nintendo hardware I'd say yes but not the others.

People buy consoles for Zelda, Mario Kart, Smash bros etc. Since a similar experience is unobtainable on other hardware. But FPS like Halo or action games like God of War... the experience can be found in other games so...

Don't know that. Some developers keep doing DRM even though it doesn't work.

Let me rephrase : Sony/Microsoft wouldn't be throwing money at the publishers to make a game exclusive to their console if that wouldn't increase the sales of their consoles.
