Please help, I really need to know if I should buy BF2142, I have heard many bad things about it, like lag issues but I have heard good things as well.

I loved BF2, so if you have played BF2142 please post either a "yes buy it" and a reason, or a "no stay away from it" and a reason.

ok reason to buy it:

different game on urban not to bad but reason's not to buy it

urban 2142 only allows 32 plrs and some of the maps are quite large thus your gameplay is slow and most of the times boring

then playing on the vanilla server, its laggy as hell

basically if you like your 48-60 plr bf 2 games and you like how hectic bf 2 can get then 2142 aint for you

I enjoy it. Mainly cause the engineer (previously Anti-Tank) is alot more versatile. is it better than BF2? NO...
then why am i playing it so much?
 
SpecialForces = Wednesday.

Erm ... 2142 is kewl cos of the new toys an there's no like this vehicle/aircraft is pwning everybody cos one peep cas kill off an armour/plane quick quick.

TITAN mode is the only real laggy one, so if the lag drives you crayzee, don't play titan maps, though the other maps can also suddenly lag you out of the happy place.

BF2 will still be around for a loooong time though.
They are about to release a new patch for 2142, you may want to see what appens when the patch is applied.

But .. for R200 [CNA], 2142 is well worth it.
 
Nah the R200 was a pricing mistake stokie. I went there and it was R300 :eek: yup R300 :eek: :(

Anyway, having failed to join in on the great CNA rip of 2006 I have decided to stick with BF2 to the bitter end.
 
Me too, I haven't even downloaded the 1.41 patch for BF2.

EA annoys me no end that I have to waste R40 worth of bandwidth because they just want to pi$$ BF2 players off enough to rather buy 2142 :(

LOL, well I guess im going to get it, since im bored of CSS and BF2, i suppose whats R300 these days anyway, a movie tickets like R50 bucks, and that only lasts 2hours.

Maybe the new patch will sort things out, thanks for all the info.

yes buy it,it is very cool :cool: and fun as for lag i play with a friend on a 384k dsl line and we don't have any lag.the only big problem i have with battlefield 2142 is that u can't use your local cap to play it, and that it takes a lot of cap.:(
