I agree seeing it was send over the post don't lose any sleep over that but get the car off your name as soon as possible.Don't lose any sleep over it. You do however have to pay if you signed for it.
I really want to de-register from their site, but then i won't know if the person will pick up any more fines, summons not materialize ? It seems like this does happen to some people. I wish i had more info on this. Thanks for trying to help.Some bad advice here. The license dept can even not refuse to issue a licence disk to force you to pay fines. That is extortion by definition and a criminal offence. Just proceed with paying for the disk, get a receipt and open a criminal case. You're covered once it goes to court.
Ignore all fines untill you get served with a summons, which is extremely unlikely to ever materialise. Then defend the matter by presenting the facts that the car was sold.
In the interim, try to deregister/scrap the car.
Get sleep.
Deregister on that Pay Fines platform. It is aimed at fishing for motorists' personal information and influence the gullible to pay fines where the authorities are too inept to do their jobs.
Traffic department see it as myself that was trying to get rid of the vehicle because of unpaid licensing fees, and like mentioned, the truth is the person liked the vehicle and i mentioned that it was 2 years in arrears, he accepted the vehicle, but then he waited a year extra only to see the license fees accumulating even more, they did not even want to look at my affidavit nor any of the forms nor the vehicle sales contract. I was told by them to go to the dept of transport and try and pay it off. I am without work currently, relying on help from family.Get an affidavit and proof of sale.
You will need it for the both the fines and the vehicle. He is not putting the vehicle in his names so that he can speed and do what he likes.
Then go to municipality and write the vehicle off. You will need some things from them to do that.
You can probably still go and deregister the vehicle from your name.
Does anyone know how i can send the affidavit, proof of sale and ticket numbers to municipalities in potchefstroom, carletonville and pretoria ? Only the western cape seem to have an email address where you can forward these details to.There are a few issues here.
1 When he bought the car from you, he is required by law to register it in his name within 21 days.
2 He is driving around in an unlicensed car.
3 He is committing traffic offences driving an unlicensed car.
I really think he is in more trouble than he thinks.
Supply the traffic authorities where the speeding fines were incurred with his name and address as the driver. of the car at the time.
Wait until they deliver the summons...only then do you pay a fine...EVER!!I guess this is the answer then.
Thanks, can PayCity be trusted to pay fines with ?
Yeah I have seen people cry at license department due to arears. You really dont want that to happen. To scrap the vehicle they want the arrears on the outstanding license.

the enatis system cant print the paid for liscence disc untill the arrears is paid .you cannot derregister or scrap a car untill the arrears are paid .enatis is a bugger when it comes to that .by the time you get the summons you also cannot get the 50%discount pay fines can give you ,that expires after 32 days if issue .Some bad advice here. that 50% only applies where its actually stated if its not stated somewhere it doesnt applyQuestion related to written fines where they write it out in front of you and hand it over. Do you still get a 50% discount if paying within 32 days? Got one 3 weeks ago for R500 and will try to pay it later today at PnP. Wondering what to say if I go to PnP and they say they want the full amount of R500 instead of R250.
I can't see the fine on paycity or ABSA, etc. Waited 3 weeks for it to maybe be loaded so I can pay it online. I assume these written ones are not loaded?
go look on fines sa ,they themselves give the discount ,i find sometimes on payfines its not given either .its maybe an inhouse agreementQuestion related to written fines where they write it out in front of you and hand it over. A traffic fine issued in terms of the AARTO Act starts off with an infringement notice. The alleged infringer then has 32 days to:
- Pay the penalty – at 50% discount;
- Make representation to the RTIA;
- Apply to pay in instalments;
- Elect to be tried in Court; or
- Nominate the driver if the registered owner was not the driver at the time of the alleged infringement.

Payment due date is 26 June and court date in July. I just want to pay it and forget about it but can't find it online so need to find a place to physically pay it. Will try PnP tonight.
