Everything just sitting idle, or supposed to be.

The fans be going mal!



Do I have a run away process (looking at those CPUs) and how do I find it?

bleh you are running windows executable through wine, no wonder your box is so busy.
doubt that I can help you (no experience with teamviewer), use vnc over ssh myself.

Yup its a raspberry, only complaint is that the network is only 10/100.
Pretty sure there is a mint release for it if you really want it.

i have osmc installed on my raspberry at the moment... was playing around with some streaming addons.

Possible, but improbably. Your cpu might have come slightly unseated, meaning that the heatsink can't do its job any more, hence the fans in overdrive mode. Something like that happened to me before: http://www.craiglotter.co.za/2011/09/19/a-bit-of-thermal-paste/

(Don't think this is the case though - your CPU heat reading seems normal enough)

Do you keep a terminal window open all the time?

Change your terminal font ( gnome-terminal -> profiles ) to "Monospace", and see if the Xorg CPU usage goes down to normal

need to be able to get in every now and again from outside of my home network, and would like to use the desktop interface
