Hi I havent seen a specific thread dealing with this topic or if there has been one could a mod please merge it.

The way I understand it Telkom will only force the hardcap on ISP's that self authenticate their users ie Axxess, WebAfrica ect.

So will Telkom sell their 3gig accounts and not hardcap their users?
If this is true I am sorry to say I will change to Telkominternet again.

See the thread, 'Some interesting reading guys'
I put a link there that explains it quite well

NO...

They are hardcapping their accounts aswell
All IPS's accounts affiliated with telkom will
be hardcappen aswell.

Only IS affiliated ISP's will offer a 30Gig local cap

Please tell me where telkominternet say they are going to hardcap their 3 gig accounts. AFAIK all they have stated to date is that they will address the issue of exceeding caps on a user by user basis allthough a user that is using 100Gig will be addressed sooner rather than later

Thanks for that link Jack. Well acording to that article or DOTCO the way I understand it they are saying TelkomInternet will continue the softcap and hardcap only self authenticating ISP's thus being uncompetitive and luring customers to sign up with TelkomInternet.

Thanks for the link. This is still confusing I want to go with an IS account and make the neccessary arangements ,but if TelkomInternet is not hardcapping I would like to sign up with them.

I do remember Steven White saying awhile back that they will implement a per gig billing system as well to ensure that when you buy one account ur login details and email adress stay the same. Does this mean if TelkomInternet is not hardcapping you will keep your original account and email adress and can still topup per gig?

Eish Im starting to confuse myself now:D

Hi,

I made this comment about this and how I think that if Telkominternet chose to soft cap, it might not necessarily mean they are being uncompetitive:

Even in the unlikely event that they "absorb" these costs. Its all the same company with the largest market share by far. Its absolutely anticompetitive, the law is quite clear in that regard and we will fight them.
